History
The Mutiny Memorial is located on Rani Jhansi Road, about 500 meters south of Hindu Rao Hospital on the Northern Ridge.
The British built this octagonal tapering tower of red sandstone in 1863.
Now known as Ajitgarh, it's architecture shows a 'Gothic influence.' It was erected in memory of the 2,392 officers and soldiers, of the British and Indians in the Delhi Field Force who were killed in action or died of wounds or disease between 30th May and 20th September 1857.
The tower is circular from inside and is raised on a two tiered base. It has an ornamental façade and a has a staircase leading to the top. All around the tower there are many plaques on the side mentioning the names and ranks of the soldiers who fought for the British in the War of 1857.
In the year 1972, on the 25th anniversary of India's Independence, a new plaque was added to the memorial. This plaque mentions that the so-called enemy carelessly mentioned by the British were actually the freedom fighters and martyrs of the country.
All fought bravely against the repressive colonial rule in the First War of Indian Independence
Paranormal Activity
The apparitions of British and Indian soldiers have been seen in the area of the monument. In almost all cases these soldiers are missing their arms, legs or even heads.
Ghostly amputated limbs are also seen around the monument. This has led, on more than one occasion, of people reporting actual limbs scattered around it.
One British soldier, who's thankfully intact, often asks passing people for a light for his cigarette. He most often seen on the road that connects the memorial with the main road.

Hindu funeral practices include the burning of bodies and uncountable remains have been burned at this beach. It is thought that the burning of bodies can release a ghost into the air.
It is also thought that one of places where paranormal activity is most prominent is locations where wind is almost always present – this beach also fits this description.
Either way Dumas Beach is considered one of the most haunted places in India.
Paranormal Activity
It is said that if you walk on this beach (particularly at night; either alone or in small groups) you will hear the whispers of the dead on the wind from the ocean. They have whispered directions into people’s ears: go back, go forward etc, but - in a more frightening fashion - have also been known to whisper grim and very personal fates into people’s ears.
There are also many reports of dogs chasing people on this beach but this is more likely just the dogs desperately trying to escape from paranormal activity that they are more in tune with. Dogs are also said to act strangely on the beach including whining and barking at the ocean or unseen presences and becoming obviously very uncomfortable.
People have also been known to disappear without a trace from this location. Most of the disappearances have been tourists who may have wandered to close to the dangerous seas but rumours persist that the dead have called them to their deaths in the seas.
Or maybe the dead that roam Dumas Beach have gone through with some their frightening visions of the future.
It is said you are never alone on Dumas Beach; the dead will always surround you.

The three 28-storyed pista green-and-white towers stand out prominently amid a crop of less imposing buildings in the South Mumbai skyline; a landmark most Mumbaikars would instantly recognise. But behind the façade of one of the city's swankiest residential addresses lies a sordid saga of suicides.
What is it about Grand Paradi that prompts many of its residents to jump to their death?
Since 1998 there have been a spate of suicides - nearly 20 - by Grand Paradi residents in the building itself. This includes 3 generations of one family in 2 different incidents related to legal issues.
All 5 members of the family jumped from the same 8th floor balcony in 1998.
The residents clearly believe there is a problem: in 2006, the Grand Paradi Co-operative Housing Society sought a counselling session from Counselling and Suicide Prevention Centre (CASP), it was attended by over 100 residents.
Built in 1975, the three towers at Kemps Corner offer one of the most spectacular views of the city and the Arabian Sea. Long considered one of Mumbai's most coveted addresses - a flat here is valued at Rs 40,000 a square foot - Grand Paradi is home to several diamond merchants and Gujarati, Marwari and Sindhi businessmen. An apartment in Grand Paradi is indicative of enviable wealth and status.
Not surprising then that financial reasons have led to most of the suicides: whether it was Charisma's wealthy family who allegedly disapproved of her relationship with a boy who was not of the same financial standing, or the Dalals where a long standing dispute over the flat valued at Rs 3 crore ended in three generations of the family jumping off the balcony.
First, Vasadeo and Tara Dalal ended their lives following harassment from their son and daughter-in-law Balkrishna (48) and Sonal (45) on June 14, 1998. The duo was arrested on charges of abetment on the basis of the suicide note left behind by their in-laws claiming they were "fed up" because of sustained harassment from Balkrishna and Sonal. On the day of the verdict, seven years later, on March 28, 2005, fearing conviction, Balkrishna, Sonal and their 19-year-old daughter Pooja jumped off the balcony of the eighth-floor apartment. The aforementioned 3 generations of the same family.
It was after the suicides in March 2005 that the housing society sought professional counselling. "They were worried about the spate of suicides," Garge Ursekar, a counsellor with CASP, told HT. "They were planning to set up a counselling cell." While nearly 100 residents attended the interactive discussion held on the society's plush lawns, the cell was never set up.
A resident of Mont Blanc, a 29-storey building that shares a driveway with Grand Paradi, told HT, "Nobody can quite understand what has driven so many people in Grand Paradi to commit suicide."
It is a question that perhaps even Grand Paradi residents can't answer.
» June 14, 1998: Senior citizens Vasudeo and Tara Dalal jumped of the balcony of their eighth floor apartment flowing harassment from their son Balkrishna (48) and daughter-in-law Sonal (45).
» March 28, 2005: Fearing conviction for the suicides of Vasudeo and Tara, Balkrishna and Sonal jumped off the balcony with their 19-year-old daughter Pooja on the day of the verdict.
» April 26, 2001: Narayan Ramchander (36), a domestic servant in the building, threatened to jump off the parapet of the 19th floor apartment in a 10-hour suicide drama after he was accused of stealing by his employers.
» Mr Jain, an employee with a brewery company, in his early forties committed suicide, some time in 2000.
Since these building were opened in 1975 there have been a total of 24 suicides and/or fatal accidents in them. There are stories of disembodied voices in the building that urge people - already unbalanced - to jump and end it all.
The 8th floor of the B Wing is also reported to be haunted now. The same floor 3 generations of one family jumped to their deaths. Apparitions that fade in and out of reality, disembodied voices and a powerful sense of uneasiness is reported.
The Tower of Silence (see below) is located only 200 metres from the complex. Some have placed blame for the paranormal activity on it.

The Tower of Silence is actually a Parsi cemetery situated rather picturesquely on Malabar Hill in South Mumbai.
Custom dictates that Parsis leave the bodies of their dead for vultures to feed on.
The graphic images that come to mind lend themselves to all sorts of horrifying stories.
Paranormal Activity
The winding road that leads down the hill is particularly desolate and eerie at night and the place has become recognized as a kind of ghoulish hangout.
The weird happenings at the Grand Paradi Towers (see above) for instance, were blamed on spectral forces emanating from this cemetery

History
This fort was built in the 16th Century for the Madho Singh.
It is now a giant and well-preserved heritage site. An entire city complete with temples and palaces that is accessible only through one gate and only during the daytime hours.
Entry between sunset and sunrise is strictly forbidden due to a legend that the paranormal activity in the night is so intense no one could survive.
Paranormal Activity
Legend says a Priest trained in Black Magic fell in love with the city’s Princess but his feelings were not reciprocated. It is said knowing he didn’t have a chance the Priest cast a spell on a bottle of the Princess’s perfume; but she discovered the truth. She hurled the bottle at the Priest which turned into a boulder before it struck and killed him.
Before he died, he cursed not only the Princess and her family, but the entire city as well. In his next battle, the King lost, resulting in his own death; as well as that of most of his army.
The city quickly fell into despair and was abandoned. It is now cursed to remain forever empty and desolate; apparently anything built here will fall apart. It is also filled with ghosts.
Locals say anyone who was dares to spend the night inside the walls either disappear or suffer unexplained accidents which will result in their deaths. None of the buildings have roofs and no roof will stay in intact if built inside the walls.
The guards around the walls apparently will deny any paranormal activity but they will also not let anyone in. The gate is guarded by the Indian Army after dark.
Even in the daytime people have reported anxiety and unease making them want to leave. There are also many reports of people feelings as if they are being watched and as if they are not alone.
